Disability Insurance Medical

Disability insurance medical is a financial resource to fall back on in the event of a serious injury that affects our ability to care for ourselves, or affects our ability to earn income. We go through the steps of comparing policies, selecting an insurer, and then paying premiums on a monthly or annual basis. This all works out fine, unless in the unfortunate event we become injured and have to file a claim.

In some cases, a physician declares disability, but for some reason the insurance company doesn't accept that as sufficient evidence. This becomes a confusing situation for the claimant who believed that the insurance company was his friend. While it's true there are good insurance companies, for others nothing could be further from the truth. They have a number of tricks at their arsenal that usually follow a process of 1. Deny, 2. Delay, 3. Defend. Unfortunately, the only step of recourse for the claimant is 1. Fight!!!

First, these insurance companies are going to deny the claim. They know for a fact that a certain percentage of people will have other revenue streams and deem it more trouble than it's worth to fight to get their money. Sometimes the insurance company will not even provide a valid reason as to why they are denying the claim, all while the claimant is trying to convince them that it is a valid claim. After all, the claimant now has 3 doctors that say there is a disability. But for some reason the insurance company somehow lost the information, and needs it to be sent again. Doctor's offices are busy and don't like to repeat sending out the same information. Not only is the insurance against you, but they are now turning the doctor's office against you. Ding! First round goes to the insurance company.
